My name is Jennifer Parsons. I am a library student (graduating May 2008) at the University of Missouri who will undergoing her Spring 2008 practicum at the University City Public Library, which serves the information needs of the general public in central St. Louis County. The University City Public Library is also a member of the Municipal Library Consortium of St. Louis County.
During my 18 weeks as practicum student, I will be learning more about the following functions:
- Reference Services
- Adult Services/Library Instruction
- Cataloging
- Collection Development
- Other fields as needed by staff
Like most things relating to work, I expect this rough schedule of mine to change over time and with the needs of my library; as I learn more, I expect this list will become more comprehensive.
